Elon Musk Announces “America Party” Political Movement

Elon Musk, the visionary behind Tesla and SpaceX, has officially declared the formation of a new political party in the United States. He made the announcement on Saturday, July 5, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), following growing disagreements with U.S. President Donald Trump.

In his post, Musk revealed the name of the new group: the “America Party.” He emphasized the party’s mission is to “return freedom to the people.” He argued that the country is being burdened by mismanaged spending and corruption, suggesting that the current system operates like a de facto one-party state, rather than a functioning democracy.

However, Musk did not clarify whether the party has officially registered with the Federal Election Commission nor did he name any additional leaders or officials who will steer the group.

Musk’s statement comes after a period of vocal support for Trump’s presidential campaign. He reportedly contributed large sums of money to boost Trump’s chances, and during the campaign period, even took on a de facto advisory role within Trump’s team.

Tensions between Musk and Trump rose sharply over fiscal policy. Musk was highly critical of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which included significant tax cuts and increased spending. Even hinting that legislators backing the bill might face Musk’s public scrutiny.

Meanwhile, Trump fired back, accusing Musk’s companies of being major beneficiaries of government subsidies. He claimed that without these subsidies, Musk might have had to relocate his business ventures back to South Africa.

It remains to be seen whether the “America Party” will participate in upcoming elections, secure official registration, or attract notable political figures. Musk also didn’t share any specifics on the party’s platform beyond its broad appeal to freedom and fiscal responsibility.

This new political development comes as the U.S. edges closer to the 2025 presidential election cycle. Musk’s creation of a separate party adds an unpredictable twist to the political landscape, potentially diverting key voter blocs.

In summary, Elon Musk’s “America Party” positions itself as a liberty‑focused alternative to mainstream parties, targeting financial mismanagement and political complacency. Whether it evolves into a credible political force remains uncertain, but its announcement alone signals Musk’s ambition to impact American politics in a tangible way.
